PAWMA Camp 2019 has ended
Welcome to Camp 2019 at Aldersgate in Turner, Oregon! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone and having an exciting and safe camp.

  • Opening Ceremony has changed to the bleachers behind the Auditorium.
  • There were a few schedule changes, but the app is up to date  (as of Friday at 3pm). One schedule change from the camp book (two classes swapped places with each other):
    • Spontaneous Knife Defense is Sunday at 10:45am-12:15pm
    • Basic Pad Blasting Drills is Sunday at 1:45-3:15pm
  • Registration is in the Auditorium. When you check in, please tell us if you’re staying through Monday (so we have an accurate count for breakfast that day).
  • You must check out by 10am on Monday morning. You can store your luggage/stuff in the auditorium.
  • The map in the campbook is old... the map in Sched is better. :)

It’s All About that Base: Conditioning the upper (shoulder blade region), lower (abdominal region) and glutes to support a healthier martial arts

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This class identifies and focuses on areas of our body that need to be strong to support both martial arts training and our daily functions. We often work to correct poor movement habits in the martial arts after they have caused pain or injury. This class explores and practices conditioning exercises and drills to help reduce the risk of injury due to weakness in our foundational musculature.

Participants will learn and practice individual and two person conditioning drills, following alignment guidelines to protect joints and work toward their own capacity. Participants will be encouraged to create a drill or two specific to their style during our class as well. We would love for each person to feel they have completed an hour of strength training by the end of this session.

Exertion Level: Minimal to moderate
Experience Level: Open to all
Equipment Needs: resistance bands or loops if you have them
